In short

This site sets no cookies and keeps no statistics about you. Fonts, images and videos are hosted on this site itself. Opening a page loads nothing from other servers.

Hosting at Cloudflare

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, Cloudflare processes the data needed for it: your IP address, the address you requested, date and time, your browser's identifier and the page you came from. This is used to deliver the site and to protect it against attacks.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is a site that is secure and quick to reach. Cloudflare processes the data on my behalf (Art. 28 GDPR) and may process it in the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and the transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). I do not analyse access logs myself. Storage in your browser

On the English pages, a note may tell you that the page is also available in German. If you close it, your browser remembers this in its local storage (entry "sprachhinweis"). The entry stays on your device and is not sent anywhere. You can delete it in your browser settings. The basis is § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act).

YouTube videos

On game pages you first see only a preview image hosted on this site. Only when you click it does the YouTube player load (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), in privacy-enhanced mode via youtube-nocookie.com. YouTube then receives, among other things, your IP address and the address of the page. YouTube may store data in your browser and transfer data to the USA.

The legal basis is your consent given by the click (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). More: Google's privacy policy.

Links to other sites

Links lead to Steam, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. A platform only learns about your visit once you click one of these links. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Email

If you write to me, I process your address and your message in order to reply (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or (b) for questions about a contract). The mailbox is hosted by IONOS (IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). I delete messages once they are dealt with and no retention obligation applies.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data (Art. 15 GDPR), its correction (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and a copy in a common format (Art. 20). You can object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) (Art. 21), and you can withdraw consent for the future (Art. 7(3)). An email to contact@bartpiratgames.de is enough.

You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner.
